Race Entries
Were looking at making the qualification based on your BC rankings from 2007.
You would need 5 points to race the NPS in 2008.
Ranking points are the points awarded in UCI and BC events. Standings relate to
a particular series and may differ in the number of points awarded by BC.
For Regional Championship races, the event will carry the same points as an NPS event.
Riders competing in UCI events outside of the UK, not a World Cup, can still have their results count towards their end of season ranking. BC will not seek your foreign results, you must inform BC membership services of the result and provide the event date and classification.
The ranking points are input at BC HQ by Julie Barrett. Julie can be contacted at: juliebarrett@britishcycling.org.uk or by calling 0161 274 2012. A rider's database will display all their results in the current year. The year runs from December 1st until November 30th.
The database writes back to the web site and shows the ranking points for each category. The database is updated on a daily basis and this will be reflected on the website. The "End of Year Rankings" is calculated using the rider's best 8 results. The remaining results stay on record and will show on the website. Category changes for riders are decided from the "End of Year Rankings".
All is explained here:

The cut off date for the 2007 ranking is the end of November (this month). Looking at 2007 rankings, this is how many would qualify (I based this on the 10 points which we were originally thinking of).

2009 qualification will also be in place again using the BC points system, not determined yet though guessing 10 points may be needed? Now thats over a years notice for you!
Still want to race the NPS in 2008? If you score points between December 1st 2007 and the first National then of course you can enter.
Please note that we expect the first round (April 27th) to be fully booked at least a month in advance so don't leave your points chasing till March/April time.
Cheers.
Si..
