Monster Energy Signs On As Gold Level Sponsor For The UK's National Mountain Bike Point Series. UK's premier mountain bike championship series is to fly the M-claw banner
LONDON May 14, 2008 Monster Energy Drink announced today its support for the UK's National Point Series - the country's premier downhill mountain bike (MTB) completion platform - and proven training ground for the global UCI World Cup Championships.
Monster Energy, the white-hot U.S. energy drink that recently took over 1st place from Red Bull as the largest by volume seller in the States, has expanded its reach to include the UK and will – in spectacular fashion – become very apparent on the action sports and motorsports circuits throughout the summer.
The NPS showcased the top current and up-and-coming British downhill mountain biking greats, including British greats Steve Peat, Josh Bryceland, Rob Warner and Monster Energy's own Brendan Fairclough (Team Monster Energy/Iron Horse).

Monster Energy will be widely available across the UK at select bars and retail outlets over the coming months. You can also take Monster Energy for a test drive at most of this year's music festivals, including Download, Gatecrasher and Loch Lomond.
Monster Energy supports the sport. Be it MTB, MotoGP, MX, road racing, supermoto, off-road, FMX, skate, off-road, surf, snow, BMX –name it – the athletes are rockin' Monster Energy more than anything these days. Check out Original Monster Energy, Monster Lo-Carb, and the “Beast” 500ml beefy bottle of Monster Export available only at pubs and restaurants.

Alpine Bikes become World Cup official retail part
By: Alan on 27th March, 2008
Alpine Bikes are delighted to announce their partnership with the Nissan UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Fort William as official retail partner. The Mountain Bike World Cup is the largest mountain bike event in Scotland and last year attracted over 746 competitors from 47 nations, not forgetting the 40,000 spectators.
This multi award winning global event, synonymous with big name riders and even bigger courses, is a multi disciplined affair and encompasses Cross Country, Downhill and 4 Cross. Over the course of the three days, spectators can expect to be thrilled, inspired and awed by some sensational and daring riding in one of mountain biking’s most picturesque venues.
Event Director, Mike Jardine, commented ‘The Fort William World Cup is all about bikes, so it’s great to have such an active and dynamic retailer supporting the UK’s premiere bike event. Alpine Bikes will manage the Alpine Bike Park for spectators who ride to the event, providing on-site servicing support and advice in the midst of all the racing action. This is a great service for the many thousands of visitors and helps to promote a sustainable transport option for the World Cup.’
Bryan Shedden, General Manager of Alpine Bikes, added: ‘We are very excited at being official retail partner to such a prestigious event. I believe that Alpine Bikes will be able to add real value to the event by lending our own expertise to the competitors through the provision of our mechanics and a bike park. Hopefully we will see our own sponsored rider, Fergus Lamb, competing as well!’.
Alpine Bikes, Scotland’s largest independent bike retailer, will also be on hand with the latest in mountain bike clothing as well as a great selection of big brand bikes from the likes of Ironhorse, Intense and Trek.
